I Wish

I Wish I was a kid again...

I wish happiness wouldn’t be hard to get,
A book, a bubble, a butterfly would be all it would take,
To lighten up all that is around...
Like there had never been a frown.

I wish friendship would be unconditional,
A smile, a game, a toy would be all it would take,
My caste, creed or money wouldn’t change,
The number of friends I would make...

I wish I would have no worries,
A small distraction would be all I need,
No stress, no backstabbing, no rat race...
I would fall asleep looking at mother’s calm face...

I can’t be a child again,
So lord, all I ask,
Always keep the child alive,
That rests inside my heart....
