Hope is a good thing

In Ayn Rand’s novel, Atlas Shrugged, Ken Danagger asks Dagny Taggart:

“And if you met those great men in heaven, . . . what would you want to say to them?”

“Just . . . just hello, I guess.”

“That’s not all,” said Danagger. “There’s something you’d want to hear from them . . . you’d want them to look at you and say, Well done.”

I hope even i get a well done and a pat on my back from my heroes in heaven. I hope i deserve it. I hope i live my life in a way that makes me deserve it.

Tesla sir are you listening? Whenever i see lightning in the sky, i know you are at one of your experiments up there. You have been one of my major motivations. I don't know how i would do justice to you.. but i would.. i hope i would.

As in Shawshank Redemption

Andy Dufresne: [in letter to Red] "Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

Hope is a good thing when you are not sure about how things would work out. Don't forget to hope.

Burning the candle at both ends

My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night ;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—
It gives a lovely light!

swami vivekananda quotes 2

We must overcome difficulty by constant practice. We must learn that nothing can happen to us unless
we make ourselves susceptible to it.

Take up an idea, devote yourself to it, struggle on in patience, and the sun will rise for you.

Education is the manifestation of perfection present already in man

Strength is Life, Weakness is death

Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your
brothers, and let them go their own way.

The world is the great gymnasium where we come to make ourselves strong.
Feel like Christ and you will be a Christ; feel like Buddha and you will be a Buddha. It is feeling that
is the life, the strength, the vitality, without which no amount of intellectual activity can reach
God.

You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no
other teacher but your own soul.

It is our own mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us. Our thought make things
beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see
things in the proper light. First, believe in this world -- that there is meaning behind everything.
Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you are
not understanding it in the right light. throw the burden on yourselves!

Quotes of Swami Vivekananda

when i came across these magical words ...it was divine

i never have thought about things in such a way

these words have answers to all our shortcomings
all our feelings
everything that we do .. daily

whenever i am in a crunch situation and feel confused about what to do

i talk to these great men through their ideas

their thoughts that have become immortal :)

-----------------------------------

In a day when you don't come across any problems - you can be sure that you are traveling in the
wrong path

Arise, Awake and Stop not till the Goal is Reached.

To succeed, you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. “I will drink the ocean”, says
the persevering soul; “at my will mountains will crumble up”. Have that sort of energy, that sort of
will; work hard, and you will reach the goal.

Let positive, strong, helpful thoughts enter into your brains from very childhood. Lay yourselves open
to these thoughts, and not to weakening and paralysing ones.

Never mind failures; they are quite natural, they are the beauty of life, these failures. What would life
be without them? It would not be worth having if it were not for struggles. Where would be the poetry
of life? Never mind the struggles, the mistakes. I never heard a cow tell a lie, but it is only a cow --
never a man. So never mind these failures, these little backslidings; hold the ideal a thousand times,
and if you fail a thousand times, make the attempt once more.

Say, ‘This misery that I am suffering is of my own doing, and that very thing proves that it will have to
be undone by me alone.’
That which I created, I can demolish; that which is created by someone else, I
shall never be able to destroy.
Therefore, stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility
on your own shoulders, and know that you are the creators of your own destiny. All the strength and
succour you want is within ourselves.

Friedrich Nietzsche

Dont knw much about him
but i came across his quotes and felt something... so shared them here
These great men have become immortal, havent they ?

Every generation that hears about them talks about them just breathes life back in them , their thoughts ....

Its like they are alive in their thoughts; thoughts that still vibrate in this universe with the same frequency as they did when they originated in the minds of these great men

Ahh!! i want to be IMMORTAL too
